A collection of letters, otherwise known as words can be sharper than any rapier made. Even those used in jest, if taken wrong, can cut deeper than the sharpest of knives. I know this. I’m a wordsmith, a writer. But yet even with this knowledge, I oft fail when it is most important. If only I could learn to say what I mean without trying to make some kind of word play from it.
I write humor. I do so well. But when it comes to speaking, my tongue often gets in the way. I say words in jest, yet they come out like knife blades and hurt those I love most, as well as inflicting severe emotional cuts to myself. I guess silence is often golden.
