Alice is gone! No, not disappeared, gone as in making her final trip home. Ok, dead, better? She was the first of the Sew and So club to meet her maker, but not the last. A Village Shattered opens dead on. Jean Henry Mead writes a most compelling drama that has more twists and turns than a piece of tangled thread. She takes her readers down this winding path through each dramatic point with the unerring eye of an eagle. As a former journalist A Village Shattered reads like front-page news on every page. But who hates this community of retired ladies that much?

The newly elected local sheriff makes Columbo look like Sherlock Holmes. He needs help but won’t admit it. Enter Dana and Sarah to dig out what they can find. They start as suspects, become witnesses then teach an old dog, the sheriff, new tricks. The sheriff meanwhile almost wishes he stayed out of the law business and in the dog training one. The excitement builds as more club members suddenly turn up face down. It might not have been so bad, but the fog in the valley makes England look transparent. There is no apparent motive, or method, yet one person did each, or so it appeared.

Pick up a copy of A Village Shattered to learn how Jean Henry Mead ties up all the loose ends of this most twisted string of murders. You won’t regret it.

  1. Ron,
    Great review.

    Jean,
I told you your plot was convoluted. Ron’s description “has more twists and turns than a piece of tangled thread” is a much more colorful way of saying the same thing.
